Description
This report examines the complex historical relationship between the Tewa people of the American Southwest and the native animals of the area. The research was completed by a small team of anthropologists in 1910 and 1911. One of the anthropologists on site and co-author of the report, John Peabody Harrington, also assisted in a similar report on the ethnobotany of the same native tribe during this period. Though not as exhaustive as the ethnobotany report, the classification and annotation of the animals familiar to the Tewa are covered in-depth in this text.
